The Scarlett

I was inspired by a "Call for Artists" to create this one-of-a-kind piece to apply for an art exhibition Artists Interpret Red. I love the color red, and had always wanted to create a new piece for my Opulent Jewel Series with this beautiful 1930's scarlet glass brooch and textiles. I was thrilled my work was accepted and showed in my first local art exhibition at Round Rock ArtSpace in Round Rock, Texas in August, 2016.

This is a multi-layered, mixed material piece incorporating new and vintage textiles, vintage French trim, crystals, vintage brass chain and a multi-pronged scarlett red brooch.
